Short answer is, it’s a chronological account of Motley Crue. The long answer is it’s a detailed chronological account of the ongoing history of Motley Crue from the beginning until the end of 2005.

This history can be read at Paul Miles’ site www.cruetime.com. But even though that saves you money I still think it’s good to have on the shelf to pull out whenever you feel like reading it or for settling that drunken bet.

Basically each volume goes through the order of events date by date and includes many finer details you may not have known. If you’re looking for more scandalous detail than ‘The Dirt’ then you won’t get it here as this is more statistical for lack of a better word.

I find it interesting that each volume gets thicker as you go. I figured more happened with the band in their 80’s heyday but I guess that question is answered in the preface chapter where Paul states he began compiling the history in the early 90’s. Even so I think toward the end there are a few things that could have been left out as the 00’s version is almost as thick as Vol 1 and 2 put together. How much more could have happened in 5 years than 20 years?

Anyway it’s definitely one of those pieces of memorabilia for fans and after all what other band has a chronological history in print?
