Another album trying to follow up on a classic, the boys put this one out in the wake of 1986's ‘Oasmatron’ and were riding a new found wave of popularity. They also decided to try to branch out for a more commercial sound. Having just re-instated drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, the album though maligned in the press, still has a few great songs on it and I think should not be considered by any means a "bad" album.
The lead-off single ‘Eat The Rich’ is an unabashed Motorhead classic containing lyrics dealing with the humorous side of cannibalism, if one such side exists. ‘Stone Deaf In The U.S.A.’ is another slab of hard rock greatness that sounds epic when coming out of a couple of column speakers.
In my mind, the best tracks are the last two. ‘All For You’ is maligned as being a blatant attempt at a commercial single. It may in fact be, but when you get down to it, it's still a great song with good lyrics; something that Lemmy and the boys never seem to get enough credit for.
Closing the album is ‘Boogeyman’, a Chuck Berry-esque rocker with a guitar solo from Lemmy to boot. Also with this version being the Deluxe Edition, it comes with the 13 song set that the band played at the Monsters Of Rock Festival at Castle Donnington in 1986. A must-have for any Motor-head!!!
