Good thing I picked this up after my first Airbourne show! You can’t find this release anywhere at the moment as the band only did a limited run of around a thousand. Down the track it’s possible they’ll re-release more but until then you’ll have to just make do with ‘Runnin’ Wild’.

This is less of an EP and really more of a short album with 8 great tracks. Obviously the band sounds a lot rawer but any of these songs could have made the debut album. ‘Ready to Rock’ builds up in the intro then fires into gear with pounding guitars at 100k’s an hour. ‘Stand and Deliver’ is another great song, mid tempo and easy to sing a long to or play air guitar. Both of these songs still make it into the current set list on tour so obviously there is something about them.

As for the other tracks ‘When the Girl Gets Hot’ is another one like ‘Stand and Deliver’ where its easy to get into the groove of the song and has an Angus Young type riff through the intro and chorus. The lyrics are dripping sleaze and I wish I could print them for you all to see. ‘Come on Down’ follows the same vain musically with a slow build up then urging everyone to, you guessed it, ‘Come on down’ through the chorus. The solo’s in this song are awesome and if I remember correctly, the first time I saw them play this live Joel O’Keefe played them out in the crowd for what seemed like ten minutes.

‘Women on Top’ is another classic sleazy, dirty song about…. what do you think? This is another set of lyrics I’d like to upload but here’s at least a taste; ‘Animal untamed, beating on her tom-tom’ and ‘Take her to the moon, and blow her outta site’.

I hope for everyone’s sake ‘Ready to Rock’ does get re-released because the songs on here are too good not to see the light of day again. Its a good little recording.
